Galway's Only True Links....situated along the Wild Atlantic Way lies Connemara Championship Golf Links. Designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett, this is one of the most natural and true links courses in the world. The fairways and greens are beautifully carved through the rocky rugged hills and dunes. The A&B Championship Course is 7055 yards off the Blue tees and a slightly less daunting 6739 yards off the White tees. With a predominate westerly wind sweeping in off the Atlantic Ocean it is a challenge to all. Tom Watson, regarded as one of the greatest links players of all time, shot 69 here on calm summer day on July 25th 2000 and described the course as "spectacular". The most unique aspect of this course is the landscape, Eddie did an amazing job of weaving the course around the scattered rocky land, add in the ocean views and you will begin to understand why Connemara is considered one of the most scenic courses in Ireland. The club has buggies, clubs and electric trolleys for hire, plus a fully stocked proshop, all one needs to do is show up!
